Chrysler Town and Country

Chrysler Town and Country S

Chrysler Town and Country S

Chrysler Town and Country S

Безопасность Chrysler Town and Country S 2013 года

2014 Chrysler Town & Country S Review & Test Drive

The new 2014 Chrysler Town & Country S minivan helps celebrate the 30 th anniversary of the minivan by bringing modern design to the minivan segment. First introduced in model year 1983, the segment that Chrysler invented with the Dodge Caravan/Plymouth Voyager, the Town & Country was introduced in 1989 bringing more luxury and innovations to the segment that continues to grow as today’s families, couples and active singles enjoy the fun-to-drive and improvements found in the Town & Country. The Caravan/Voyager and Town & Country were the first to introduce more than seventy-eight minivan-first innovations among these innovations were-power-sliding side doors, a power liftgate, power opening rear quarter panel windows, and ‘Stow N Go’ underfloor storage. With over 13-millions minivan sales later the Town & Country also features the industry-exclusive Blu-Ray player with dual screens and HDMI input for video game systems. The Town & Country still leads the way with the best, most state-of-the-art vehicle to move people and their things.

The Town & Country features a 3.6 liter, DOHC, 24-valve, all-aluminum V6 with VVT that gives best-in-class 283hp/260lb.ft. of torque with a flat torque band and excellent fuel economy. This powerful V6 engine is mated to a smooth shifting 6-speed automatic transmission with adaptive electronic controlling modulated torque converter clutch and Autostick that allows me to change gears manually to accelerate even more quickly.

I tested the 2014 Town & Country S model that receives revised exterior trim that adds contrast to the minivan’s typically bright exterior treatment. A black chrome grille is combined with black-background Chrysler Winged badges front and rear, a black rear fascia step pad, ‘S’ model badging, 17 inch aluminum wheels with polished face and black-painted pockets and blacked-out headlight bezels. The interior features a monotone black interior unique to the Town & Country S. It starts with the Black Torino leather seats with an ‘S’ logo embroidered in the seatbacks and black Ballistic cloth seat inserts. The seats also feature gray stitching as do the door armrests. Piano black gloss appliques are found on the instrument panel and on the spokes of the black leather-wrapped/tilt/telescopic steering wheel, and the Chrysler Winged badge on the wheel matches the black background-look of the exterior badging. Finishing interior touches include a black headliner and upper consoles, a black center console and an ‘S’ logo in the instrument cluster. Also standard in the ‘S’ model is the segment-exclusive dual-screen Blu-Ray system with HDMI input, two USB recharging ports, a 12-volt outlet and a 115-volt two-prong outlet. This system allows rear seat passengers to view standard and Blu-Ray DVDs or to play a high-definition video game system on the new, higher definition, screens. Wireless headphones allow back seat passengers to enjoy this state-of-the-art system without forcing front seat passengers to hear the accompanying audio.

The ride of the Town & Country S is smooth and sporty because the suspension is tuned for sport that adds an unexpected level of handling dynamics to the driving experience, yet still provides a comfortable ride that’s expected in a luxury minivan. Up front is an independent MacPherson strut setup with coil-over gas-charged shocks, stabilizer bar and an isolated suspension cradle to eliminate any noise, vibration or harshness. The rear setup is a twist-beam axle with coil springs, track bar, gas-charged shocks and a stabilizer bar. Mated to a proven hydraulic rack & pinion steering system, the Town & Country S goes where I point it to go with quickness and precision. For a heavy minivan the steering system was boosted just right-easy to steer at slow parking lot speeds and heavier when traveling on the highway.

Safely slowing the new 2014 Chrysler Town & Country S down from speed are strong power-assisted steel disc brakes. Up front are 13 inch vented discs clamped with dual-piston calipers, and 12.9 inch solid discs clamped with single-piston calipers in the rear. Standard ABS, BA, Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control help me maintain a safe direction when braking hard and when braking on wet or slick pavement.

The comfortable and luxurious interior is beautifully crafted with high-quality materials that are soft-to-the-touch including chrome bezels, and tech-savvy entertainment features and smart storage and seating options, including Stow ‘n Go underfloor storage and seating with one-touch fold-down function. The Uconnect suite of technologies is standard and offers touchscreen and voice command for convenient control of multiple media sources and outputs, including a handsfree phone. The optional Uconnect Web transforms the Town & Country into a ‘hot spot’ to deliver the Internet directly to the minivan for instant access to websites, e-mail and more. The optional Blu-ray DVD entertainment system with HDMI input, navigation, SiriusXM radio and SiriusXM Travel Link make the Chrysler Town & Country the ultimate family vehicle. My Town & Country S came with the second-row captain’s chairs for extra comfort. The sleek, one-piece instrument panel is crafted with premium materials and is intuitive for me. The instrument cluster is easy to see and understand with trip computer information readouts in the center. The center stack console has been designed with me in mind, offering superior ergonomics with premium materials and a pleasing appearance. My Town & Country S came with the super center console that provides clever functionality and storage for CDs, DVDs, notepad and wallet and integrated power outlets, as well as easy driver/passenger access with a pass-through storage space for larger items. Trim rings in the console glow an ambient blue color, which allows passengers to find the items they are looking for at night. The tilt/telescoping/leather-wrapped steering wheel has integrated controls for audio, navigation and cruise control and, a minivan-first, a heated steering wheel option.

More standard equipment in the Town & Country S model not mentioned above includes the Blu-Ray player, second-row overhead 9-inch VGA video screen, third-row VGA video screen, 2 nd /3 rd row Stow ‘n Go with 3 rd row flip-up tailgate seats, Uconnect 430n CD/DVD/P3/HDD 40 GB hard drive with 28 GB available, Bluetooth streaming audio, 6.5 inch touch screen, A/C with tri-zone automatic temperature control, rear A/C with heater, power 8-way driver’s seat with power lumbar control, second-row power windows, power front one-touch up/down windows, power door locks, power quarter windows, rechargeable pop-out LED flashlight located in the right-side quarter panel, rear backup camera, remote USB port, grab handles all around, dual lighted vanity mirrors, self-dimming rearview mirror, dual map lights, rear dome reading lights, power sliding door, power liftgate, sunscreen glass, power-heated sideview mirrors, center console with dual cupholders and dual-tiered storage box/armrest and a dual-tired glove box.

Standard safety systems include ParkView rear back-up camera, universal garage door opener, Eco fuel optimizer calibration, advanced multi-stage front airbags, supplemental side-curtain airbags in all rows, driver inflatable knee-bolster airbag, supplemental front seat-mounted airbags, LATCH system for child seats, 7-3-point safety belts with front pretensioners/load limiters, keyless entry with immobilizer, tire pressure monitor. For enhanced safety, my Town & Country S model came with the optional Preferred Package Safety Tec that included automatic high beam headlight control, Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection, ParkSense Rear Park Assist System, rain-sensing wipers/washers, rear wiper/washer, and a full tire pressure monitoring system.

Since it first debuts in 1989 there have been many luxury minivans but there is still the original and still the best-the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

2015 Chrysler Town & Country S review notes: Tried and true

EDITOR WES RAYNAL: If I’m remembering right, I haven’t driven a Town & Country since our long termer, the white one, six years ago. Six years! That car wore a $32,700 sticker. We put almost 33K on the beloved “Norge,” so called because of its gleaming white paint, boxy shape and practicality. To us, it was a refrigerator on wheels. The Norge went all 365 days in Autoweek fleet service without ANY repairs needed beyond scheduled maintenance. It spent zero days out of the office.

The 4.0-liter V6 pulled strongly enough to squeal front rubber at launch from the first day to the last. Oh sure, the Norge loosened up some over the year, but not to the point of creating noticeable squeaks, vibrations or rattles.

We came to love the Norge for its unparalleled functionality. The good news is everything on this new one is familiar — Chrysler hasn’t changed a thing. At least nothing I can tell.

One of the original minivans, this 2015 model proves the Town & Country is still a first-rate people mover (my only beef with this particular model is the rattling passenger seat). The ride and steering are decent, certainly good enough for the customer base.

T&Cs don’t sell great — competition from Nissan, Honda, Toyota and Kia has become intense, not to mention buyers’ trying to look hip, buying three-row crossovers up the yingyang. That’s a shame, really: We’ve preached for years that minivans have much merit in terms of maximum practicality, people-hauling ability and ease of operation. Buyers just seem to think minivans are muy uncool.

There are spy shots floating around of a new Chrysler minivan testing, and I for one applaud FCA for sticking with it even if the market is so-so.

ROAD TEST EDITOR JAKE LINGEMAN: Ah, the old T&C. It was probably the best minivan on the market for a decade or two. Unfortunately, the other manufacturers are catching up, and it seems like this car hasn’t changed in a handful of years. That’s not to say it isn’t nice — it is. But it really reminds me of our old long-term car.

First of all, it looks pretty damn masculine for a van. The dark chrome wheels and window tint make this T&C something I wouldn’t be ashamed to drive. The interior is nearly identical to our old car, as far as I can remember. And that’s fine. It’s nice without looking too high-falutin’, most things are within reach and the seats are La-Z-Boy comfortable. The radio/entertainment setup is getting old though. The rest of the Chryslers and Dodges have the new ones now. I heard a few rattles from the back, too. They might have been from the seatbelts.

Power from the Pentastar V6 is great, too much for a minivan. I’d say put a four-cylinder in there, but maybe once it’s loaded up with families, kids and gear it gets a little sluggish. The six-speed automatic is showing its age a bit as well. In normal cruising, it shifts smoothly, but try to confuse it, and it falls apart. If you smack the pedal down, it’ll give you one gear, then maybe two more, popping the revs up to redline. Getting back on the gas in between the 2-1 shift throws it off, too. A couple jerky starts had me checking to see if I was in manual mode.

The T&C is definitely comfortable and doesn’t really feel like it’s going to fall over. I made few quick turns and lane changes without any surprises. It does roll a bit, though. The brake stroke is a little long, but modulation is good. It absorbs bumps well, as a minivan should.

Like I said, the Town & Country reigned for a long time, but now the Honda Odyssey is pretty good, as is the Sienna swagger wagon.

Options: Customer preferred package including SafetyTec, automatic high beam headlamp control, blind spot and cross path detection, ParkSense rear park assist system, rain sensitive windshield wipers and tire pressure monitoring display ($1,945); driver convenience group including heated front seats, heated second-row seats, heated steering wheel, second and third-row window shades, front easy clean floor mats, left rear easy clean floor mats and right rear easy clean floor mats ($695); radio 430N AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV, Garmin navigation system and SiriusXM Travel Link with five-year subscription ($1,095); compact spare tire and flex fuel vehicle ($295)

2015 Chrysler Town & Country

For 2015, Chrysler Town & Country gets two new trim levels: The 2015 Town & Country LX features leather-trimmed seats, Stow ‘n Go seating and rear backup camera, while the 2015 Town & Country Limited Platinum tops the model line with Nappa leather upholstery, heated seats front and second-row, power sunroof, dual-screen Blu-Ray video system, and a SafetyTec package. A total of six 2015 Chrysler Town & Country trim levels are offered.

There are no other major changes for 2015. The last complete redesign of Chrysler’s minivans was for the 2008 model year. Ever since the interior revisions made for 2011, the Town & Country look is more elegant, interior materials are richer, the gauges look better, and soft-touch door tops are used.

Town & Country comes with one engine: a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 283 horsepower. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 17/25 mpg City/Highway, right on par for this category, which includes Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.

Today’s Town & Country sits lower than it did a few years back, and its suspension is stiffer, to make it more controlled. The ride is quite smooth, with no evidence of wallow or float. The Town & Country S furthers this road-behavior characteristic with its sports suspension.

The Stow ‘n Go seats tuck nicely into the floor, and when they’re up, the floor bins offer extra storage space. The rear seats fold into a well behind them, allowing a perfectly flat, voluminous rear storage area. With the third-row seats up, the storage well provides space for groceries and other small cargo.

Entertainment choices include rear-seat TV, DVD or DVD/Blu-Ray players, a powerful stereo, and iPod connectivity. While the dashboard is mostly plastic, so are those in most minivan rivals.

Review: 2014 Chrysler Town & Country S

We test Chrysler’s practical, Pentastar-powered people hauler.

Being an innovator has its advantages. When Chrysler introduced the concept of the minivan in 1983, it caught the rest of the automotive world with their collective pants around their ankles.

Fast-forward 30 years and it’s clear that the segment in general, and Chrysler in particular, has had its ups and downs, but no one is really abandoning this slot in the market.

That’s where the 2014 Chrysler Town Country S comes in. Still innovative after all these years, is it enough to keep the competitors at bay? We’ll take a look.

What is it?

Now a veteran player, the Chrysler Town & Country, and its more affordable brethren sold under the Dodge and the now-defunct Plymouth nameplates, are responsible for creating the minivan segment and selling more than 13 million units. Our 2014 tester is based on the fifth-generation model introduced in 2011. Virtually unchanged since that time save for trim variances, the T&C continues in four levels ranging from base Touring, Touring L, top-o’-the-line Limited and our example, the S, which signifies a certain sporting nature.

All models in the range are powered by the same 3.6-liter «Pentastar” V6, which makes 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Utilizing sequential multi-port fuel injection, and built from an aluminum block with iron cylinder liners and aluminum heads, the mill is mated to Chrysler’s six-speed automatic transmission. As a plus, it gets its nourishment from regular (87-octane) unleaded fuel.

The current state of the Chrysler minivan finds a vehicle that is surprisingly well-equipped regardless of the trim level. In the case of our Town & Country S model, it features stygian trim pieces that help to minimize the over-abundance of chrome brightwork that goes along with the standard model. The look extends to polished and painted 17-inch aluminum wheels and blacked out headlight surrounds that help this family hauler to at least appear a little more sinister.

The T&C rides what Chrysler calls a performance suspension with bits including MacPherson struts and coilover gas-charged shocks and a stabilizer bar in front, while a twist-beam rear axle with coil springs and gas-charged dampers even things out at the rear. Mind you, it won’t stand up to any Teutonic competition, but it is a bit firmer than the standard chassis.

Our tester was equipped to seat up to seven passengers in three rows (2-2-3) with rear-seat access through the Stow-n-Go seating’s second row pass-through. Also part of the interior package was a dual nine-inch DVD/Blu-ray entertainment center with wireless headphones (thank goodness) and Chrysler’s Uconnect infotainment system. Although our example was not so equipped, navigation is an available option.

This 202-inch vehicle should fit in most garages. Its 121.2-inch wheelbase helps it to carry 143.3 cubic feet of cargo with both second and third row seating in Stow ‘n Go mode — i.e. folded into the floor — or 33-cubic feet directly behind the third row.

What’s it up against?

Lately, the minivan segment has had more highs and lows than a heartbeat monitor at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. First, a favorite, and then not, as crossover and SUV’s gained traction, the marketplace is occupied by a variety of contenders including the Nissan Quest, Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and the recently redone Kia Sedona. And we can’t forget a possible family-feud in the form of a rivalry between the T&C and the Dodge Grand Caravan, which, depending on trim levels, might leave a few dollars leftover in the family cookie jar.

All are capable rivals and feature newer technologies. Perhaps, therein lies the rub: While the others have taken huge steps forward, a tape measure would only gauge the T&C’s progress as large rather than huge.

How does it look?

Like a 1949-era Fairchild C119 «Flying Boxcar” (see the gallery above) without the wings, the Chrysler Town & Country could be described as a two-box design that is surprisingly devoid of excessive bling. But to our eyes, that’s not such a bad thing. Chrome accents at the knee- and beltline help to break up the massive side expanse of sheetmetal, and also visually extend the overall look.

Impressively, smart features abound. Some were developed by Chrysler, and others weren’t, but all are now requisite for the choosy types who are minivan-centric. They include dual power sliding side doors and a remotely operated rear hatch.

And on the inside?

The driver-canted interior does its best to coddle, but not spoil the occupants. The combination leather and cloth-covered driver and front passenger seats offered adequate bolstering that kept us in place during spirited jaunts. Embroidered S logos on the seat backs let you know you are in the sport model, though the overall vibe is still one of peaceful solitude.

Our tester was equipped with space for seven people, but we think the three-person rear seat would likely end up a tight fit for most. That same rear bench is equipped with a 60:40 split which, through the pull of a strap, can Stow n’ Go forward, or flip backward for open-hatch tailgate seating. Good sounds came from the mid-level Uconnect infotainment/sound system and its 40 gb hard drive, which Chrysler’s truth in advertising department admits is already carrying 12 gigs of data, leaving 28 more open gigabytes for music or DVD storage.

The sliding automatic side doors and power rear hatch are über convenient and will likely end up being Mommy’s little helper during after-school pickup and soccer jaunts. They will typically drive to an activity, Mom hits the door buttons or the key fob and the children will pile out like kids in the 1790’s nursery rhyme, «There was an Old Woman who lived in a shoe.”

But does it go?

Power is adequate from this Chrysler 3.6-liter V6. Typically quiet, that silence eventually gives way to engine noise entering the cabin while motivating the T&C up a hill. Luckily though, that only occurs in extreme circumstances. The smooth gearbox always seems to select the proper cog and provides confident shifting throughout the entire six-gear range. We saw zero-to-60 mph come on in an unscientifically-measured eight-and-a-half seconds.

We managed to find a good driving position in this Chrysler, though sadly not a great one. But we were able to get close with the adjustability of the eight-way power seats and the tilt and telescoping steering wheel.

The T&C’s ride is supple and well adjusted. It’s not a corner cutter for sure, but it will get you where you’re going with a minimal amount of side wallow. Steering is very responsive for a minivan of its size, giving feedback in rapid fashion. The fact that a vehicle like this provides feedback at all is noteworthy.

The EPA estimates the S-model to achieve 17 city / 25 highway with an average of 20 mpg.

Leftlane’s bottom line:

While minivans typically measure a Meh on the excitement scale, the Chrysler Town & Country S is a well-equipped example of a classic and innovative design that helped to launch an entire segment. The bonus is that at $35,235 of today’s as-tested dollars, it is a great buy.

2014 Chrysler Town & Country S base price, $32,395. As tested, $35,235.

Base package includes UConnect, second and third row nine-inch DVD screens, performance suspension, Customer Preferred Package 29M: with auto high beam headlights, blind spot and cross path detection, park sense, rain sensitive wipers, tire pressure monitoring system, $1,845; Destination, $995.

Chrysler Town and Country S ( 2013 )

Chrysler Town and Country S

Chrysler — the inventors of the minivan — is bringing modern design to the segment with the 2013 Town & Country S model. Debuting at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show, the Chrysler Town & Country S is the latest «S» model in the Chrysler line-up, joining the 200 sedan and convertible and 300 sedan. The Chrysler Town & Country S gets exterior and interior enhancements as well as some standard equipment commonly associated with top-line models.

«We tailored the new Town & Country S for the active and style minded consumers. It’s the downtown style for the Town & Country’s uptown looks,» said Saad Chehab, President and CEO — Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. «It’s more than fitting that we unveil this vehicle in Los Angeles given Town & Country S represents yet another modern take of ‘313’ in the ‘310.’»

Available in Brilliant Black, Deep Cherry Red, Stone White or Billet Silver, the 2013 Town & Country S gets revised trim that adds contrast to the minivan’s typically bright exterior treatment. A black chrome grille is combined with black-background Chrysler Winged badges front and rear, a black rear fascia step pad, «S» model badging, 17-inch aluminum wheels with polished face and black-painted pockets and blacked-out headlight bezels (delayed availability).

The interior features a monotone black interior unique to the Chrysler Town & Country S. It starts with the Black Torino leather seats with an «S» logo embroidered in the seat backs and black Ballistic cloth seat inserts. The seats also feature grey stitching as do the door armrests. Piano Black gloss appliques are found on the instrument panel and on the spokes of the black leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the Chrysler Winged badge on the wheel matches the black background-look of the exterior badging. Finishing interior touches include a black headliner and upper consoles, black center console and an «S» logo in the instrument cluster.

The segment-exclusive dual-screen Blu-Ray DVD system with HDMI input, two USB recharging ports, a 12v outlet and a 115v two-prong outlet is standard. This system, new for 2013, allows rear seat passengers to view standard and Blu-Ray DVDs or to play a high-definition video game system on the new, higher definition, screens. Wireless headphones allow back seat passengers to enjoy this state-of-the-art system without forcing front seat passengers to hear the accompanying audio.

The 2013 Chrysler Town & Country S also features a performance suspension that adds a new level of handling dynamics to the driving experience, yet still provides a comfortable ride that’s expected in a luxury minivan.

Town & Country’s award-winning powertrain delivers best-in-class horsepower without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is a two-time «Ward’s 10 Best Engine» winner and produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-6 is mated to the 62TE six-speed automatic transmission. A fuel economizer mode helps the driver maximize fuel efficiency, and premium, lower-rolling-resistance tires, and low-drag brake calipers and rear bearings make great fuel economy possible. Chrysler Town & Country achieves 17 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city, 25 on the highway.

The 2013 Chrysler Town & Country offers over 40 available safety, security and technology features, providing customers the safety they expect to ensure peace of mind when traveling. Standard safety features include ParkView rear back up camera, front seat-mounted air bags, a driver-side inflatable knee blocker, advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags, side-curtain air bags for all three rows, and electronic stability control, including Brake Assist and all-speed traction control. Optional on Touring and standard on Touring L and Limited models is the SafetyTec Group consisting of rain-sensitive windshield wipers, Smartbeam headlamps, ParkSense rear park assist system, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection.

New for 2013 is standard trailer sway damping that monitors a towed trailer’s behavior and automatically uses Town & Country’s anti-lock braking system to mitigate any swaying motions.

2016 Chrysler Town & Country

Tucking a lavish array of equipment and a passel of luxury touches into a rapidly aging body yields the only premium-level minivan on the U.S. market. Largely identical in structure and mechanical elements to the Dodge Grand Caravan, the Chrysler Town & Country is priced higher but contains enough features to justify the added expense.

Despite its obsolete underpinnings, the Town & Country is the most luxurious, and perhaps the most flexible, minivan on the American road.

Both the Chrysler and Dodge minivans have a long history, having debuted for the 1984 model year. Each has been a popular item through the years; but those years have taken a toll, in terms of the ability to cope with todays crash-testing programs.

Sole drivetrain of both minivans is a 283-horsepower V6 engine, coupled to a 6-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Thats entirely sufficient for carrying a large family or group of friends, on long trips or short jaunts. Chrysler does not offer all-wheel drive for them; all are front-wheel drive. And thats the same story with its competitors, except for the Toyota Sienna.

Chryslers minivans have retained the same basic body style since 2008, though restyled three years later. Thats a considerably advanced age for any type of passenger car. Yet, the Town & Country still looks attractive, at least judged by minivan standards.

Chrysler and Dodge minivans promise good visibility from the drivers seat all around. They also stand out for seating convenience. Stow n Go seating offers one-touch fold-down action. On the connectivity front, a Uconnect technology group ensures convenient control of multiple media sources, along with hands-free phone connectivity. To satisfy frequent Internet users, optional Uconnect Web can transform the minivan into a Wi-Fi hot spot.

Second-row captains chairs are available for Touring-L, Limited, and Limited Platinum models, dropping passenger capacity from eight to seven.

Available for 2016 is dual-screen DVD entertainment, featuring HDMI input for video game systems. An available super center console provides CD/DVD storage.

Because the Town & Country is due to be replaced by a markedly different minivan during 2016, nothing of consequence has changed for the current model year, apart from a new special edition: The Town & Country Anniversary Edition commemorates 90 years of the Chrysler brand. Based on the Touring-L model, it includes a sunroof, heated first- and second-row seats, heated steering wheel, and Keyless Enter n Go

2015 Chrysler Town & Country

The Chrysler Town & Country is a great vehicle for families that need to haul people and cargo on a regular basis. For maximum passenger and cargo space, a minivan is hard to beat, and Town & Countrys seating options are among the best in the class. And its controlled handling makes for a nice driving experience. Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Caravan sales account for nearly half of total minivan sales.

For 2015, Chrysler Town & Country gets two new trim levels: The 2015 Town & Country LX features leather-trimmed seats, Stow n Go seating and rear backup camera, while the 2015 Town & Country Limited Platinum tops the model line with Nappa leather upholstery, heated seats front and second-row, power sunroof, dual-screen Blu-Ray video system, and a SafetyTec package. A total of six 2015 Chrysler Town & Country trim levels are offered.

There are no other major changes for 2015. The last complete redesign of Chryslers minivans was for the 2008 model year.

Todays Town & Country sits lower than it did a few years back, and its suspension is stiffer, to make it more controlled. The ride is quite smooth, with no evidence of wallow or float. The Town & Country S furthers this road-behavior characteristic with its sports suspension.

The Stow n Go seats tuck nicely into the floor, and when theyre up, the floor bins offer extra storage space.

2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Chrysler is the old-timer among minivans, having launched its first group way back in 1984. Since then, Chrysler and Dodge minivans have gone through a succession of generations, making many improvements but retaining the body styles practical virtues. Long considered the vehicle of choice for suburban families, minivans have lost favor in recent years, and many former owners have turned to crossover SUVs. Still, for anyone who appreciates sensible motoring, with plenty of space for passengers and cargo, a minivan is hard to beat; and Chryslers long-lived luxury version remains among the top contenders.

Chrysler is celebrating the three-decade run of its minivans for 2014, marking the occasion with special 30th-anniversary editions of both the Town & Country and the closely related Dodge Grand Caravan. Among other extras, the 30th Anniversary Edition includes 17-inch aluminum wheels with polished faces, 30th Anniversary badges, and availability of Granite Crystal Pearl Coat paint.

Otherwise, Town & Country carries over to the 2014 model year unchanged. The last complete redesign was for the 2008 model year. The 2011 Chrysler Town & Country featured revised styling, a new engine, an upgraded suspension, and a reworked interior.

All 2014 Town & Country models have the same engine: a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 283 horsepower. This places Chrysler in line with the fine V6s offered by the competition, including the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 17/25 mpg City/Highway, on par for this category.

Todays Town & Country sits lower than it did a few years back, and its suspension is stiffer, to make it more controlled. The ride is quite smooth, with no evidence of wallow or float. Town & Country S furthers this with a sports suspension.

Town & Countrys entertainment and seating options are among the best in the class, roughly matched by the related Dodge Grand Caravan. Stow n Go seating with second-row bucket seats is standard. These seats tuck nicely into the floor, and when theyre up, the floor bins offer extra storage space. The rear seats fold into a well behind them, allowing a perfectly flat, voluminous rear storage area. With the third-row seats up, the storage well provides space for groceries and other small cargo. Many entertainment choices are offered, too, including rear-seat TV, DVD or DVD/Blu-Ray players, a powerful stereo and iPod connectivity. While the dashboard is mostly plastic, so are those in most rivals. Since the 2011 interior revisions, the look is more elegant, the materials are richer, the gauges look better, and soft-touch door tops are used.

The Town & Country is a great vehicle for families who need to haul people and cargo on a regular basis. It offers a lot of interior utility. It drives nice with controlled handling.

Минивэн Chrysler Town and Country получил версию S

chrysler town-country chrysler town-country s chrysler la2012
